Our Principles
Six commitments that guide every piece of content we publish.
Original Research
Every guide and comparison is based on hands-on testing. We use the tools we review, run real workflows, and document measurable outcomes before publishing.
Fact-Checked Claims
Statistics, benchmarks, and product capabilities cited in our articles are verified against primary sources. We link to sources wherever possible.
Transparent Affiliations
When we compare 5tldr with other products, we clearly state that 5tldr is our own product. Comparison articles follow the same evaluation criteria for every tool.
Regular Updates
Content is reviewed on a quarterly cycle. Articles display their original publish date and last-updated date so readers always know how current the information is.
No AI-Only Content
AI tools may assist with drafting, but every published piece is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor who verifies accuracy and adds editorial judgment.
Reader-First Approach
We prioritize actionable, practical value over search-engine optimization tricks. If a topic does not serve our readers, we do not publish it.
Content Creation Process
From idea to published article — every step includes a quality check.
Topic Selection
Topics are chosen based on reader questions, search intent research, and gaps in existing coverage. We only cover subjects within our domain of expertise: AI summarization, productivity workflows, and content consumption.
Research & Testing
For tool reviews and comparisons, we set up accounts and run identical test cases across all products. For educational content, we consult academic sources, industry reports, and practitioner interviews.
Writing & Review
Articles go through at least one editorial review cycle. We check for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and tone. Promotional language is minimized in favor of evidence-based recommendations.
Publication & Maintenance
Published articles include metadata (author, date, reading time) and structured data. We monitor for outdated information and update articles when tools change their features or pricing.
Corrections & Feedback
If you find an error or have suggestions for improvement, we want to hear from you.
We take accuracy seriously. If you spot a factual error, an outdated claim, or a broken link in any of our content, please let us know at hello@5tldr.com. We review all corrections within 48 hours and update the article with a note when applicable.
